(Written by Luke, a Disciple of the
Apostle Paul)

This book is a verse-by-verse study of Luke's account of the establishment of the early church  Much of it Luke witnessed firsthand; and some was recounted to him by the Apostle Paul; but all of which was confirmed to him by the Holy Spirit.

It is believed by many that Luke wrote this account as a defense to be presented before Caesar when Paul appealed his case.  It ends in Rome at the time of Paul's trial.  We know from church history that Paul was released, following which he went to Spain and made another round of visits to the churfches he had established in Asia Minor (Turkey) and Greece.  He was then arrested again, and then executed by Nero.

In the Book of Acts we witness the fulfillment of the Old Testament Feast of the Lord - Pentecost (Shavout, in Hebrew).  At the first Pentecost, God gave the Law at Mount Sinai, and Judaism was birthed.  Also, 3,000 Israelites died when they worshiped a golden calf.  At the fulfillment of Pentecost in the Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit fell on the believers, and the Church of Jesus Christ was born, and 3,000 were given new life in Christ - eternal life..  Follow the Gospel as it spreads to the Gentile world.  Go with Paul on three missionary journeys, and then on to Rome where he was eventually put to death by the ruthless Emperor Nero.  See the example of Paul as he teaches from the Old Testament (there was no New Testament at the time), and lives a selfless, exemplary life among his new converts; and learn as Paul teaches his new disciples who became the pastors of the churches he established.

We divide the Book of Acts as follows:

Ch 2 - Messiah Prepares His Disciples for Pentecost (1:2-
